The Apple iPhone has rapidly become the most famous and popular smartphone in the world; with it’s amazing connectivity, touch screen and a huge amount of applications, games, music and videos available for download, the iPhone is at the top of most people’s mobile phone wanted list.

But how, if at all, can the iPhone aid you in running your business? The answer is, quite simply, in lots of different ways. Let’s look first at the size and processing power of the iPhone – it’s operating system and memory allow it to be incredible powerful in terms of data and connectivity, it’s basically like having a laptop with you all the time. It your work has you travelling a lot, then carrying a huge amount of files, folders or even your chunky laptop can be very annoying, but the iPhone removes this problem completely.
The connectivity on the iPhone is extremely impressive and it will pretty much always be able to find some kind of internet connection. With the way the phone is set up, this means you’ll have access to your emails so you’re never out of touch, the internet (accessed through Safari) and general instant access to whatever information you require. Wherever you are, you’ll pretty much always have access to whatever information you need to do your job.

The size, weight and memory of the phone also make it perfect for those who are always on the go, and it up to 32GB memory it’s perfect for business use. If you’re in the air you’ll have access to all of your books, films and music to keep you entertained, as well as constanct access to your emails. If you’re on the ground and trying to find an address for a meeting, you have instant access to Google maps or any of the multitude of sat nav apps available for the iPhone. Plus there’s the fact that you’ll never miss an email, meaning you won’t be greeted with an overflowing inbox on your return to the office. Plus the amount of data it can hold means you’ll always be able to take those import PDF’s, check your asset management software, read word documents, whatever you need.

The security is excellent on the iPhone too, making it perfect for business use; lost your work phone and don’t want someone reading your in-depth company list of fixed assets? You can utilise the basic keylock security measure or the iPhone support remote wiping, meaning you can instantly wipe sensitive information from lost or stolen phones.

The 3.5 inch screen on the iPhone also allows for perfect client demonstrations; you can show them talks, spreadsheets, pdf’s, whatever you want, all on a sharp, beautifully clear screen.

Whatever your requirements of your business phone, the iPhone will be able to meet and exceed them. All you need to do is find a suitable application, and with hundreds of thousands available on the App Store, with a bit of searching you’re sure to find something useful. They’re amazing inventions and I wouldn’t be without one when it comes to business.
